Have you heard of the newest audio only social media platform Clubhouse that went viral towards the end of 2020 and early 2021.  If you dwell around entrepreneur circles it is almost guaranteed that you have. The app that was launched in its Beta version in 2020 for only iPhone users had a massive growth boost that had every entrepreneur, influencer, thought leader, and marketer going crazy. Myself included.  Our guest today was one of the first users of Clubhouse to hit 1,000,000 followers and now is sitting at 2.2 million followers as of April 2021. His name is James Andrews. 

 

James has been working at the intersection of tech, and culture since the 90’s. He held senior roles at record labels, a fashion brand, tech startups, and advertising agencies. He is a former label executive from the LA/NYC 90’s Hip Hop/R&B Golden Era who worked at Columbia Records. He is currently the founder of Authenticated Ventures, a brand studio and investment advisory that leverages culture to accelerate opportunities and growth outcomes for their portfolio and partners. He is also the founder of The Authenticated is a membership community of 300+ investors, founders and creators, and James is a founder member of The Audio Collective  a hybrid live-audio creator community, production house, and ambassador group.

Dan Roitman is the founder of Stroll, an eCommerce platform company that specialized in marketing education products. Through Stroll, Dan turned Pimsleur into the second largest language learning platform in the US, and close to a $100 Million product line. For seven years in a row, his company that he started in his college dorm room was on the Inc. 5000 list, the Philadelphia 100, and Internet Retailers top 500 list. He’s also been recognized as a ‘40 Under 40’ by both Direct Marketing News and the Philadelphia Business Journal For a ten-year period, Stroll had an annual growth rate of over 70%. The company became an $80 million professionally managed organization with more than 125 employees. Dan had a fascination with personal development products that began in college when he needed to quickly learn how to build and manage a business. He was able to self-fund the growth of Stroll through his own constant commitment to business improvement and the ability to leverage sophisticated marketing analytics and advanced e-commerce techniques.

How does the FBI, CIA and Special Ops teams negotiate with kidnappers, international terrorists and the most dangerous people on the planet? Today, we have one of the top authorities on negotiation on our podcast, and I am really excited to have him on the show! His name is Brandon Voss, and he is the President of The Black Swan Group. The Black Swan Group is a strategic business advisory firm that focuses on business negotiation. Their negotiation structure stems from Brandon’s father Chris Voss who was the FBI’s lead international kidnapping negotiator for 20 years. They use hostage negotiation skills to solve business negotiation problems, and it works like a charm.  It is a process that recalibrates communication efforts in order to close better deals and create long lasting relationships.
